Why would he lie?

You’ve discovered your fella has lied to you! Why did he do that?  He says he was one place and was somewhere else.

It is all too easy to jump to conclusions and assume he was up to something that he shouldn’t of been and with someone else but, perhaps the reality is something all together different.

Are you possesive?  Do you demand to know his every move?  Does he have friends he has known for years that you don’t like?  Sometimes these are all reasons that your other half may lie to you.  The truth be told it is easier for him to tell a lie than be honest with you if he knows you are going to go ‘off on one’ followed by a huge row.

Just because he is going out for a pint with his mate who is incapable of having a night out without pulling or has a dreadful reputation with the ladies does not mean your boyfriend will behave the same as his friend.  If you cannot have trust and faith in your boyfriend then your relationship is doomed.  How would you feel if your other half demanded that you didn’t see your best friend and demanded to know where you are every second of the day and with whom?

It is not healthy and in the end you would end up lying too.  Sometimes we need to look at ourselves when we discover someone we love has lied to us and sometimes our unreasonable behaviour is the cause of the lying.  We cannot control someone.
